Producer, DJ, rapper/singer, and self-proclaimed ruiner of dubstep, Borgore is already taking 2013’s bass movement by storm. Riding into the year still high off the success of his single “Decisions” with Miley Cyrus, one of his most recent releases with Carnage “Incredible,” hit #1 on Beatport and quickly became a staple this Miami Music Conference season. Moreover, he’s announced, not only a new EP set for release this June and his upcoming debut album to be delivered this fall, but he’s also announced his upcoming #TURNTLIFE spring tour, launching early this forthcoming May.

The 22-date tour will take the Israeli-Londoner to numerous, clubs, venues and festivals all across North America. Donnie and the Disco Donnie Presents team are deeply saddened by the loss of Scott Hardkiss, a true originator of American electronic dance music.

From underground events in forests, on the beach, or under the desert sky, Scott made an indelible mark on music and was one third of the beloved ’90s SF rave trio Hardkiss, along with Gavin and Robbie.

Together, they helped define the San Francisco rave sound—a mix of house, techno, breaks, and of course, plenty of psychedelica.

Scott’s contribution to DJ culture will surely be mourned, but it is his heart and spirit that will never fade.

From all of us at the Disco Donnie Presents team, may you rest in peace Scott.

Known for his productions under the monikers Ewun and more popularly, Kill The Noise, Jake Stanczak is a drum and bass, dubstep, electro and house music DJ and producer from Rochester, New York. With a keen ear for sound quality and engineering, Stanczak’s professional production hit the ground running after his father bought him a copy of the software program, Reason 1.0 back in 2000. Since then, he has since gone on to become one of the most prolific, avant-garde producers of our generation, working with many artists including Spor, Evol Intent, Skrillex, Dillon Francis, Datsik and Dieselboy. Amazingly, Stanczack’s work as Kill The Noise garnered so much recognition and support from fans before even having the chance to debut an official solo release. That would soon change in 2010 though as his first EP Roots came out, coincidentally, as the first release for Slow Roast Records, an imprint he co-owns with five time DMC world-champion, DJ Craze.

Continuing on in 2013, Kill The Noise has just announced his first-ever headlining tour, the Black Magic Mystical Wonder Tour with Style of Eye and Brillz providing the primary support, and 12th Planet and Codes will provide support for select dates. We have always marveled at how his productions and performances flawlessly blend different genres, styles and tempos, which is why Disco Donnie Presents is glad to bring a lot of noise to a city near you!

While it has only been three short years that Alessandro Lindblad, better known as Alesso, first burst out onto the scene, the list of accolades in those years are to be commended.

Just a year after his debut release, Alesso rose to international notoriety with string of popular hits like his remix of Starkillers, Alex Kenji, and Nadia Ali’s “Pressure,” which, by the way, was one of the most played dance songs of 2011. In the same year, Alesso collaborated with fellow Swede, Sebastian Ingrosso on the track “Calling,” scored an official remix of Swedish House Mafia’s “Save The World,” and got to remix for then then, world’s #1 DJ, David Guetta on the track “Titanium.” And from 2012 on into today, it has been nothing but a slew of successive Beatport chart-toppers like festival favorites, “Years” with Matthew Koma, “City of Dreams,” alongside Dirty South and his latest solo release “Clash.”

As we look at Alesso’s list of achievements in the short span of his career, it seems,to us, that he definitely made the right decision when he sold motorized scooter for his first studio set-up. Producing DJ, Dragan Roganovic, or Dirty South, has had quite the journey experimenting with sound throughout his lifetime, improvising mixing with turntables for mixing with tape decks at just the ripe age of 13. As he grew older, his appetite for production grew as well, intently working on remixes and mashups of other artists’ tracks and as a result, 2004 saw the first release under the moniker Dirty South. Moreover, Dragan distributed his own productions worldwide, and in doing so, eventually caught the eye of Australian Vicious Vinyl Records, who went on to sign him in 2005. Shortly there after, came an influx of releases and remixes, all adorning the Dirty South name.

Known for memorable anthems like “Open Your Heart” with Axwell and “How Soon Is Now” with David Guetta and Sebastian Ingrosso, Dirty South is definitely a staple on the iPod of any dance music fan. As a producer, he has been nominated for and won a numerous amount of awards and accolades including being nominated for a Grammy twice and having many releases called an “Essential New Tune,” by the legendary Pete Tong. Currently, Dirty South has just released his brand new artist album, Speed of Life. And by recently, we mean only days ago. Currently sitting at the #2 position on iTunes overall Dance chart, Speed of Life is inspired by his many adventures around the world, coincidentally, the album was made almost entirely on the road. And with the announcement of his North American tour and an impending Essential Mix coming out later this year, 2013 looks to be the year of the Dragan.
