Tiësto to release third volume of his “Club Life” series with Stockholm
Tiësto certainly needs no introduction. His exciting Club Life series has been one of the go-to radio shows for dance music fans to follow the newest favorites from the legend himself. Carrying radio show into a compilation series, the thrid intstallment is inspired by Stockholm.
Tiësto explains, “I moved to Stockholm in February 2009 and now spend several months there every year. The Swedes are enormously talented in fashion, music and art, which is extremely inspiring for me when I work on new tracks. There are also lots of great clubs within walking distance from the city center that makes Stockholm a very friendly place to party. This mix album perfectly encapsulates my Stockholm Club Life experience.”
Club Life Stockholm is made almost entirely out of exclusive edits and Tiësto remixes that you can’t hear anywhere else. Joining his original tracks and remixes are his personal favorite tracks and emerging talent from his Musical Freedom imprint. “On this compilation you can hear the influence of the new generation of Dutch and Swedish DJs. When I listen back to this mix and the tracks that I produced and remixed, it takes me back to special places and very fond memories of Stockholm. I feel like I became a little bit Swedish over the years and I can honestly say that Stockholm will always be in my heart.”
The digital copy of Club Life Stockholm was released June 18th and the CD will be released June 25th. Tiësto will be supporting the album all throughout 2013 with over 100 dates on the Club Life World Tour. Catch the tour and Tiësto as they make their way to the third annual Sun City Music Festival. Tickets are available online and in select stores.
Gesaffelstein releases video for “Pursuit”
A few weeks ago, French talent Gesaffelstein gave the world a brief teaser of his new single “Pursuit.” This week, the single, out on Skrillex’s OWSLA imprint, was released and given a music video which is a near great visual interpretation of the track.
Directed by Fleur and Manu, the video is definitely in tune with the dark techno infused single. The piece follows the life of a king and how he rules his kingdom through multiple stages. In the beginning, the prince alienates a princess whom he once loved in pursuit of power. Next, we find the now king using intense warfare and surveillance to control his kingdom, thereby showing the corruption of power. Of course, the video wouldn’t be complete without a cameo from the frenchman himself. We are loving the visual aid for “Pursuit” (even if we don’t completely understand it) and it’s got us wondering – how can we get an awesome gold glove?
Having recently just worked with Daft Punk and Kanye West in the studio, you can expect an album from Gesaffelstein later this year. You can also see him perform at this year’s Sun City Music Festival, buy your tickets today!
With our expansive lineup for the 2013 edition of Sun City Music Festival just announced this past Tuesday, we decided to get a head start on learning about all of our talented artists before the anticipated event this labor day weekend. Kicking off the artist profile series is a talent that you, the fans specially requested, Deorro.
Los Angeles native Deorro is the perfect example of the word diligent. His DJ career began at the ripe age of 14, but it wasn’t until he was 17 that Deorro would begin producing his own tracks. A few years later, honing in on his craft, Deorro started uploading his music onto SoundCloud under the name Ton!c. It wouldn’t be long before he was considered a sensation on the musical platform either. Album’s Fire and Voodoo have garnered over one million downloads online. His music spread across the globe – so much so, that he sold out two shows in Australia.
By late 2011, “Ton!c” made one of the best moves of his career when he signed one of his most popular tracks “Big Fat” to BIP Records. As if his fanship wasn’t already vast, the single made its way up Beatport’s Top 20 electro house chart, making his fan base even bigger. “Big Fat” wasn’t the only single that made its way to Beatport’s chart. Tracks like “Bounce” on Mixmash Records, “Get Up” on Rock The Houze Records, and “Faster Horses” on Ultra Records have all seen high rankings on the famous music site.
Merging the two parts of his last name, Deorro is one of the fastest rising talents in the dance music industry releasing some top quality Dutch electro and progressive influenced bangers. But the styles that he is influenced by don’t stop there. Still high off of his Elevation EP out on Dim Mak, Deorro has seamlessly tied drumstep, house, dutch, trance, heavy electro, and even some moombahcore elements, creating a sound that is uniquely is own. You can catch the latin sensation and join the PandaFam when he comes to El Paso for the third annual Sun City Music Festival. Buy your tickets today!
Today’s the day, Sun City fans! We couldn’t be more excited to share this year’s Sun City Music Festival lineup with you. And we know you’ve been waiting to see who will be joining Armin Van Buuren, Steve Aoki, Tiësto, and Alesso on our stages August 31st and September 1st. So without further adieu, here is your complete 2013 SCMF lineup.
In just four short years, Tritonal have become one of the world’s most dynamic and innovative acts to watch. Chad Cisneros and Dave Reed first formed the dynamic musical partnership in 2007 from opposite ends of the United States after meeting in a sound production forum online. After only a year of producing together, their release “Piercing Quiet” became a smash hit and listeners of A State of Trance radio show voted it ‘Best Track’ and the outfit has only sky-rocketed from there.
The boys have since launched their own record label, Air Up There Recordings, which has gone on to feature artists like Matt Lange and breakout artist, Mat Zo, and have also become resident DJs on Sirius XM’s Electric Area, hosting their popular radio show Air Up There, which is now syndicated on five continents. Known for utilizing songs with forward-movement, chatty snare breakdowns, teeth-clenching drops, and big-room strings, Tritonal live can described as a highly energetic and all-around, memorable experience. We can’t wait to see them on their Metamorphic tour.

Disco Donnie Presents would like to extend our congratulations to Porter Robinson, Mat Zo, and The M Machine for the monumental success of “The Language Tour,” which invaded cities across North America and parts of Europe in the summer of 2012.
Just yesterday, Porter released a touching and insightful mini-documentary, produced by Justin Nizer, chronicling the tour’s travels. Disco Donnie Presents is proud to have hosted numerous stops on the tour, including Portland, Seattle, Charlotte, Nashville, New Orleans, Houston, Dallas, Albuquerque, Tempe, St. Louis, and Pontiac, many of which are featured in the film below.
Again, our congratulations to “The Language Tour” and thank you for the memories.
Zeds Dead? No actually Zeds Dead is very much alive and well thanks to Dylan Mamid, DC, and Zack Rapp-Rovan, Hooks, the duo behind the Canadian dance music outfit. Though it was only a few years ago in the summer of 2009 when the world would see the first outing as Zeds Dead, the boys have more than made up for their brief time in the industry with chart-climbing releases like their Adrenaline and Hot Sauce EP’s and more recently, hit single “Ratchet.”
Earlier this week, the duo announced their “Altered States” tour, featuring more than 35 U.S. and Canadian gigs over a period of six weeks in fall of this year. The boys say they’ll be touring the states while “altering people’s state of mind as we go.” Before their trek begins, DC and Hooks have promised to deliver a “constant stream of output,” which includes new releases, summertime mixes, artwork, videos and all sorts of new material on their aptly titled site AlteredSt8s.com.
Known for their fusion of electro house, hip-hop, glitch, and drum and bass with their dubstep platform, we can’t get enough of Zeds Dead’s bassmentality. Which is why we are excited to partner with them on the following dates:
One of the biggest names in dance music for the last decade, Gareth Emery dabbles in a little bit of everything. The Southampton native runs a night club and famed record label from Manchester, England. Adding to his impressive résumé, is his degree in Politics from the University of Warwick, not to mention he’s trained in classical piano – and we haven’t even touched the surface of his expansive musical tastes. Needless to say, Gareth Emery has become a staple to events and festivals around the globe and has occupied a spot in the top 40 of DJ Mag’s quintessential list since 2006.
Gareth first debuted in early 2002 with a white label remix of The Shrink’s “Nervous Breakdown.” Although the track brought him some attention, it was his third release “Mistral,” out that same year, that is considered to be the launching pad of his career as Paul van Dyk would later go on to debuted the track live during the Nature One Festival. His debut artist album Northern Lights hit number one on the US iTunes dance chart and featured “Sanctuary,” which became the most played record of 2011 on Sirius XM Radio station BPM. Though his production is usually described as a fusion of trance, house and progressive, Gareth will tell you that he plays good music, regardless of genre.
Throwing labels to the side, Gareth Emery is an eclectic personality and an extremely talented DJ. Which is why we are excited to partner with the him on the following dates:
American electronic music promoter Disco Donnie Presents (DDP) and the Bob Moog Foundation have announced a strategic partnership to further the Foundation’s mission to educate and inspire children through the intersection of music and science.
The Asheville-based Foundation, which carries on the legacy of electronic music icon Robert Moog, received a $10,000 donation to assist with its innovative science and music education outreach program, Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool (DBSS), as well as a donation portal on all Disco Donnie Presents tickets pages to help raise additional support. The $10,000 donation was provided from the proceeds of Houston based Halloween electronic music festival, Something Wicked, a partnership between Disco Donnie Presents and Houston promoter Nightculture Events. Additionally, Disco Donnie Presents will match fan donations received through the donation portal.
“We’re thrilled to have found a partner in The Bob Moog Foundation — a foundation that shares the same values in the importance of education and creativity in the areas of music, math, and science. The strategic partnership paves the way for online donations from our customers, but also the continued support of our company,” Disco Donnie Presents CEO Donnie Estopinal said.
The Foundation sees the partnership as a perfect fit for both organizations.
“Donnie’s prominence within the EDM community and his interests in the area of innovative education that integrates music and science make the partnership a natural fit. We look forward to cultivating our strategic partnership with DDP to work together to ignite creativity in children’s lives through Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool,” said Michelle Moog-Koussa, Executive Director of the Bob Moog Foundation. She continues, “We are especially grateful that DDP has agreed to match all donations made through the ticket donation portals. This extra show of support will provide added incentive for concert-goers to pay tribute to their musical roots while inspiring the future through supporting the Bob Moog Foundation”.
The Foundation is in at a pivotal juncture of growth with Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool. The acclaimed program is centered in western North Carolina, but the foundation hopes to grow it regionally and nationally in the next three to five years. The growth of the program costs $20 per student or $500 per classroom.
The idea for a strategic partnership first came about when a mutual friend introduced Moog-Koussa and Estopinal at the EDM Biz conference in Las Vegas earlier this year.
Estopinal’s Disco Donnie Presents, both on its own and through partnerships, produces over 1,000 live events, festivals and club shows around the US annually. Ticket buyers for every show will now have the ability to donate to the Foundation. The Foundation and DDP hope the national focus and number of events will help spread the word and raise financial support.
“One of the reasons I’m excited about the strategic partnership is that fan ticketing donations are a good way for the electronic music culture to start giving back, said Estopinal. Historically, electronic music fans haven’t really been known for philanthropy, and I’m hoping that’s a perception we can all change together. I’m pleased to offer to match all donations that are made through the ticketing portal to enhance everybody’s contributions to this important cause.”
With school music and arts program cuts all across the country and U.S. students lagging behind students in other countries in the areas of science and math, the Bob Moog Foundation seeks to make an immediate impact in the lives of children through Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool.
The Foundation operates with two main objectives, education and preservation. The goals come to life through Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool and Archive Preservation Initiative. Eventually, a Moogseum is also in the works.

Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool
Dr. Bob’s SoundSchool (DBSS) is a 10 week curriculum which engages 2nd grade children in the science of sound through the magic of music. The curriculum explores such basic physics of vibrations, waveforms, amplitude, and pitch. Both acoustic and electronic musical instruments are used to demonstrate concepts, as well as custom designed educational materials developed by our DBSS team of educators and technologists. The curriculum is currently in 32 schools in Western North Carolina. The Foundation’s goal is to grow the program regionally and nationally in the years ahead.
Archive Preservation Initiative
The Bob Moog Foundation Archive is a unique and vast collection of schematics, notes, breadboard prototypes, photos, articles, reel-to-reel tapes, instruments and more. The Foundation works to protect, interpret and exhibit these materials so that future generations can be inspired by Bob Moog’s legacy, and by the work of those with whom he collaborated. The manifestation of this preservation will be to share the archives through traveling exhibits and eventually through our own Moogseum.
Moogseum
The Moogseum is planned to be both a website and facility in Asheville where the outreach and preservations goals converge in a hands-on interactive environment.

From their humble beginnings at underground raves in Chicago warehouses, trio Krewella first burst on the scene in 2011. It wasn’t until they self-released their critically acclaimed Play Hard EP in the summer of 2012. The EP went to #1 on Beatport’s overall chart and the single “Alive” went to #1 on Billboard’s Dance Radio Airplay. Though it hasn’t even been a year since that EP, Krewella has become one of the hottest dance acts on the planet thanks to their hard blend of electro house, dubstep, and lyrics was high, it would skyrocket after they
Having just recently been awarded the IDMA for “Best Breakthrough Artist,” we agree with Billboard who stated “Krewella will be huge this year.”
