Sun City Music Festival Sound Clash: Adventure Club, Eats Everything

Though one of our Sun City Music Festival acts is from England and the other based out of Montréal, there are two things Adventure Club and Eats Everything have in common: they both love bass and they both had break out success in 2011.

Adventure Club

We love Québécois production duo Adventure Club‘s knack for bass music. Though the duo originally formed while as a hardcore pop-punk band, they later moved onto the sounds of dubstep, and we’re so glad they did. Tracks like their remix of Brand New’s “Daisy” put the duo on the map and gave them heavy exposure on popular music site, The Hype Machine.

Praised for their melodic song structures and most notoriously, their love of free music, the boys of Adventure Club have undoubtedly established a devoted following since their initial inception, just shy of two years. Whether they perform live, or in a mix like their recent Superheros Anonymous Volume 2, their sound floats between the avenues of electro house, dubstep, drumstep, and trap, all the while, keeping their smooth melodic Clubstep for the masses. They also manage to keep a comedic approach to it all, never taking themselves too seriously. You can catch Adventure Club when they make their way to Sun City Music Festival this coming Labor Day. Tickets are available now!

Eats Everything

Eats Everything is leading the pack of talented producers coming from England’s bass central, Bristol. Born Dan Pearce, the gent picked up DJing before he hit his teens, but by the time he was 16, he started playing at the clubs he frequented in his home town. As a producer, he began experimenting with techniques a little over a decade ago, but it wasn’t until 2009 before he could confidently say, “Yeah, I know what I’m doing.”

The world can’t get enough of Eats Everything tracks. They have an infectious bounce that keeps everyone moving on the dance floor, but still have relaxed and laid back vibes. The cool thing about Eats Everything is that he draws knowledge of the various genres and periods of dance music, ranging from early ’90s house to old-school jungle and speed garage. This is evident by his debut release, “Entrance Song” on Catz N Dogz’s Pets Recordings imprint, which was chosen by Pete Tong as one of the biggest tunes of 2011. We love how catchy his bass lines are all while maintaining his personality with tricked out synths and funny yet odd samples.

With his rise to fame in just two short years, he is sitting comfortably between the underground and mainstream realms of dance music, and he wouldn’t have it any other way. “It’s taken me a long time to get where I am,” he says. Currently, Eats Everything is working with dirtybird label boss Justin Martin on a collaborative album due out in 2014. You can wait until then to hear the British talent, or you can come join us at Sun City Music Festival and get jackin’ on the dance floor. Grab your tickets today!

Tampa's R.I.C.H. House Program receives $10,000 donation from Sunset Music Festival

Thanks to the support of the fans, Sunset Music Festival is proud to announce a $10,000 donation to the R.I.C.H Houses in Sulphur Springs and Robles Park, a local organization dedicated to positively changing the lives of children through education.

The R.I.C.H. Houses, which are run by the support of the Tampa Police Department, were developed to help build positive relationships between law enforcement and residents, while cultivating at-risk children into leaders in their community. As a result of the original R.I.C.H. House in Sulphur-Springs, more residents are working together to lower crime and improve the overall quality of life in their neighborhood.

“Sunset is a proud supporter of the R.I.C.H. House, because we’re grateful for the important service it provides the community and its children,” said John Santoro of Sunset Music Festival. “Giving is an important part of the Sunset culture and our goal is to keep the fans and the festival active within our community.”

The donation will be used to help support the R.I.C.H. House in Sulphur Springs, a new R.I.C.H. House in Robles Park and technology for a summer youth academy program.

Sunset Music Festival is proud to donate toward the R.I.C.H. Houses and their support of our community’s children and neighborhoods.

Sun City Music Festival Weekly Set: Fun in the Sun

The summer season is officially upon us, and you know what that means – sunny skies, laying out by the pool, great music and fun times with friends. If you love the last two as much as we do, come join us on the dance floor this coming Labor Day weekend for El Paso’s largest dance music event, Sun City Music Festival. Buy your tickets today to score the best deal!

To give you a sneak peak of what you can expect at SCMF, we’ve decided to launch a Weekly Set series on our Soundcloud profile featuring the music of all our talented roaster. This week’s theme is inspired by this time of season. So whether you’re driving to work or the coast, or enjoying the outdoors with great company, here are five tracks to soundtrack your fun in the sun starting with lighter beats and ending on a hard note.

Tiësto, Dyro – Paradise (Original Mix)

Recently featured on third edition of his popular Club Life series, Stockholm, Tiësto release “Paradise” on his own imprint Musical Freedom.

Why We Love It

“Paradise” is packed with gorgeous big room synths and a driving melody that makes you immediately want to jump up and dance. As the Tiësto camp says, “This is the best of summer wrapped up into a song.” Going to a day time pool party that goes on to the evening? This song is sure to pack a punch.

Sébastien Léger – Warped in Time (Original Mix)

In celebration of his love love for all things groovy, funky and melodic, Sébastien Léger gave away this soulful number away to all his fans.

Why We Love It

This song immediately puts you at ease. Right from the start, the atmospheric keys provide a whispy and angelic tone to the piece. When the fatty bass and drums come in, it adds a whole new jazz element to spaced-out tune. Like to watch the sun rise? Play “Warped in Time” when the sun first begins to show.

Eats Everything, Justin Martin – The Gettup (Original Mix)

Teaming up with dirtybird label boss Justin Martin, Sun City act Eats Everything released “The Gettup” earlier this month on Beatport.

Why We Love It

From the chunky bass lines, a signature to the dirtybird crew, to the tricked out effects over top of the vocals, “The Gettup” has the perfect combination of a smooth, relaxed vibe with dance floor appeal. Play this on your morning drives to start your day off right.

Destructo – Higher (Brodinski Remix)

Out on the famous Boyznoize Records, Brodinski joins Tommy Trash as remixers for Destructo’s EP Higher.

Why We Love It

The industrial sounds on this banger first grabbed our attention on Brodinski’s remix of “Higher.” We especially loved the trap breakdown in the middle as the vocals repeat, Get higher baby. Going with friends to grab a some lunch? Play this track with the windows rolled down and the bass way up to give you that jolt of energy to make it through the day. WARNING: A dance party in the car may ensue at all stop lights.

Candyland ft. Stan SB – The Secret (Original Mix)

A few months ago, Candyland were originally scheduled to play an event in Boston a few days after the unfortunate tragedies on Patriot’s Day. Though they were asked to reschedule because the promoter was directly affected by the events, the boys decided to release a brand new original with 100% of the proceeds going to The One Fund Boston.

Why We Love It

Outside of the awesome fact that the boys are donating all the proceeds from this track to One Fund Boston, it’s hazy synths, worked drums, and memorable lyrics make it a sure-fire summer anthem pick. We recommend cranking this one on for the next road trip!

Sun City Music Festival Weekend Warriors: French Fries, Markus Schulz, Adventure Club

The weekend. A time for friends, fun, and definitely not thinking about work. This coming Labor Day weekend will include all of that and then some, as El Paso celebrates with the largest outdoor dance music event in the city, Sun City Music Festival. Have you bought your tickets yet? Before we get down August 31st and September 1st, here are three mixes from our SCMF roaster to get you pumped for the upcoming event.

French Fries: The Boomcast #38 with French Fries and Bambounou

Every fortnight, France’s imprint ClekClekBoom hosts its very own podcast, the Boomcast, that showcases underground club music and previews exclusive material from the label. Part owner of the imprint, French Fries makes an appearance on the most recent episode.

Why We Love It

We love a good bass line, and this episode is chock full of them. Whether the bass is acting as a kick drum or the drums themselves are experimenting with their own polyrhythms, The Boomcast features back to back tracks perfect for a long drive to the beach or a booty-clapping good time. Tap into France’s club scene and enjoy.

Markus Schulz: Rabbithole Live from Space Terrace in Miami

During Miami Music Conference of this year, Markus Schulz performed an open to close set at the legendary rooftop Terrace at Club Space in Miami. He was due to finish at 6:00 AM but was told to keep on going. At 3 1/2 hours long, into the Rabbithole we go..

Why We Love It

It’s very rare that a DJ at the level of success like Markus Schulz gets to play completely off the cusp and carry a driving night vibe clear into the morning. We love this set because not only does it showcase the “unicorn slayer” doing what he does best (slaying unicorns) but it also goes into other avenues like progressive and techno. Feel the energy of the night with this long player.

Adventure Club: Superheroes Anonymous Volume 2

A few weeks ago, the boys of Adventure Club premiered volume two of their Superheroes Anonymous mix on a Mixify festival for This Song Slaps. Now the mix is available download.

Why We Love It

Adventure Club does an amazing job of creating an eclectic mix packed with various genres and bass filled anthems from beginning to end. With a tracklist that features songs from Sun City artists like Tiësto and of course the boys themselves, we’re positive this mix will get you in the mood for the upcoming Labor Day event.

Sun City Music Festival Drop: Tiësto to release anticipated "Club Life - Stockholm"; Gesaffelstein releases video for "Pursuit"

Now that our lineup for the third edition of Sun City Music Festival has been announced, you can check back here for all the updates from our talented roaster. Just this past week, two of our European acts have released some mind-benders and club bangers.

Tiësto to release third volume of his “Club Life” series with Stockholm

Tiësto certainly needs no introduction. His exciting Club Life series has been one of the go-to radio shows for dance music fans to follow the newest favorites from the legend himself. Carrying radio show into a compilation series, the thrid intstallment is inspired by Stockholm.

Tiësto explains, “I moved to Stockholm in February 2009 and now spend several months there every year. The Swedes are enormously talented in fashion, music and art, which is extremely inspiring for me when I work on new tracks. There are also lots of great clubs within walking distance from the city center that makes Stockholm a very friendly place to party. This mix album perfectly encapsulates my Stockholm Club Life experience.”

Club Life Stockholm is made almost entirely out of exclusive edits and Tiësto remixes that you can’t hear anywhere else. Joining his original tracks and remixes are his personal favorite tracks and emerging talent from his Musical Freedom imprint. “On this compilation you can hear the influence of the new generation of Dutch and Swedish DJs. When I listen back to this mix and the tracks that I produced and remixed, it takes me back to special places and very fond memories of Stockholm. I feel like I became a little bit Swedish over the years and I can honestly say that Stockholm will always be in my heart.”

The digital copy of Club Life Stockholm was released June 18th and the CD will be released June 25th. Tiësto will be supporting the album all throughout 2013 with over 100 dates on the Club Life World Tour. Catch the tour and Tiësto as they make their way to the third annual Sun City Music Festival. Tickets are available online and in select stores.

Gesaffelstein releases video for “Pursuit”

A few weeks ago, French talent Gesaffelstein gave the world a brief teaser of his new single “Pursuit.” This week, the single, out on Skrillex’s OWSLA imprint, was released and given a music video which is a near great visual interpretation of the track.

Directed by Fleur and Manu, the video is definitely in tune with the dark techno infused single. The piece follows the life of a king and how he rules his kingdom through multiple stages. In the beginning, the prince alienates a princess whom he once loved in pursuit of power. Next, we find the now king using intense warfare and surveillance to control his kingdom, thereby showing the corruption of power. Of course, the video wouldn’t be complete without a cameo from the frenchman himself. We are loving the visual aid for “Pursuit” (even if we don’t completely understand it) and it’s got us wondering – how can we get an awesome gold glove?

Having recently just worked with Daft Punk and Kanye West in the studio, you can expect an album from Gesaffelstein later this year. You can also see him perform at this year’s Sun City Music Festival, buy your tickets today!

Sun City Music Festival Artist Profile: Deorro

With our expansive lineup for the 2013 edition of Sun City Music Festival just announced this past Tuesday, we decided to get a head start on learning about all of our talented artists before the anticipated event this labor day weekend. Kicking off the artist profile series is a talent that you, the fans specially requested, Deorro.

Los Angeles native Deorro is the perfect example of the word diligent. His DJ career began at the ripe age of 14, but it wasn’t until he was 17 that Deorro would begin producing his own tracks. A few years later, honing in on his craft, Deorro started uploading his music onto SoundCloud under the name Ton!c. It wouldn’t be long before he was considered a sensation on the musical platform either. Album’s Fire and Voodoo have garnered over one million downloads online. His music spread across the globe – so much so, that he sold out two shows in Australia.

By late 2011, “Ton!c” made one of the best moves of his career when he signed one of his most popular tracks “Big Fat” to BIP Records. As if his fanship wasn’t already vast, the single made its way up Beatport’s Top 20 electro house chart, making his fan base even bigger. “Big Fat” wasn’t the only single that made its way to Beatport’s chart. Tracks like “Bounce” on Mixmash Records, “Get Up” on Rock The Houze Records, and “Faster Horses” on Ultra Records have all seen high rankings on the famous music site.

Merging the two parts of his last name, Deorro is one of the fastest rising talents in the dance music industry releasing some top quality Dutch electro and progressive influenced bangers. But the styles that he is influenced by don’t stop there. Still high off of his Elevation EP out on Dim Mak, Deorro has seamlessly tied drumstep, house, dutch, trance, heavy electro, and even some moombahcore elements, creating a sound that is uniquely is own. You can catch the latin sensation and join the PandaFam when he comes to El Paso for the third annual Sun City Music Festival. Buy your tickets today!

Disco Donnie Presents gets "Metamorphic," joining Tritonal on tour

In just four short years, Tritonal have become one of the world’s most dynamic and innovative acts to watch. Chad Cisneros and Dave Reed first formed the dynamic musical partnership in 2007 from opposite ends of the United States after meeting in a sound production forum online. After only a year of producing together, their release “Piercing Quiet” became a smash hit and listeners of A State of Trance radio show voted it ‘Best Track’ and the outfit has only sky-rocketed from there.

The boys have since launched their own record label, Air Up There Recordings, which has gone on to feature artists like Matt Lange and breakout artist, Mat Zo, and have also become resident DJs on Sirius XM’s Electric Area, hosting their popular radio show Air Up There, which is now syndicated on five continents. Known for utilizing songs with forward-movement, chatty snare breakdowns, teeth-clenching drops, and big-room strings, Tritonal live can described as a highly energetic and all-around, memorable experience. We can’t wait to see them on their Metamorphic tour.
