Beatport Hosts Exclusive Day After Festival Mix from Anna Lunoe

Fresh off her massive performance in Panama City, Panama for The Day After Festival this past January 10-12th, Anna Lunoe has released a special mix inspired by the event. Hosted exclusively on popular online music retailer, Beatport, the 44-minute mix, called “Music to Rave to,” is chock full of tracks that are perfect to get down and dance to.

Starting out a with some relaxed vibes, tracks like “Do What You Wanna Do” and “Microsleep” set the mix off right, giving a nod to the sounds of house in the early 90s. Things really start to heat up with “Clubby Woodpecker” and “Higher,” delving deeper into the fold. Anna continues to push the tempo and energy with “Wisdom to the Wise (Red 2) (Boys Noize Wild Pitch Mix)” and “Baby F-16.” The exclusive mix also features Anna’s latest single “Breathe,” which is a throwback beauty that we just can’t get enough of.

If you’re looking for a mix filled with banger after banger, than you will not be disappointed with “Music to Rave to” by Day After Festival talent Anna Lunoe.

Day After Artist Profile: Nicky Romero

artist nicky romeroFor Day After Festival talent Nicky Romero, music has always been an integral part of his life. Armed with a distinctive signature sound and a very thriving output of ideas, Nicky Romero has become an increasingly influential force in the the global music arena.

Born Nick Rotteveel in Amerongen, Holland, Nicky Romero began his musical prowess as a drummer hitting his first snare at the age of six. Though he played for bands and in marching bands throughout his adolescence, after year of playing drums every day and night, he swapped them out for turntables, “I wanted to make it in music for a long time but I didn’t know how or where at the time, then I discovered EDM and it really got me hooked. I used to work in a local bar, collecting empty glasses, cleaning and working the coat check. I looked up to that guy in the booth playing tracks and making everyone happy by playing killer tunes.”

Early in his DJing career, after a brief stint spinning house and r&b, his lust for music production began to grow, “I discovered I had a passion for making music as much as I did listening to it.” After graduating high school, Nicky went to work producing music. By 2008, the young talent had already caught the eye of the Once Records imprint which released his first tracks “Privilege,” “Qwerty,” and “Funktion One.” Gaining some traction, Nicky started signing his records to more established labels like Spinnin’ Records, Fly Eye Recordings, Toolroom Records. This was just the confidence boost he needed to send David Guetta a bootleg of “When Love Takes Over.” When the French heavyweight saw the how much success the track had online, Guetta took the budding artist under his wing, “[David Guetta] takes the time to develop people’s knowledge and understanding and I am so grateful I was one of those lucky enough to be part of that experience.”

In the studio, Nicky’s talents are always in high demand. He produced a track on Rihanna’s album Unapologetic, has remixed for Madonna, and has collaborated with the likes of David Guetta, Calvin Harris, Fedde Le Grand, and NERVO. When he teamed up with Avicii, their track “I Could Be The One” was a worldwide success, debuting at #1 on the UK Dance Chart.

With his Protocol brand, Nicky Romero continues to showcase the latest and greatest sounds through the record label, club night and radio show. Celebrating the release of his edit of R3HAB and Lucky Date’s “Rip It Up” and continuing to push his sound forward, we’re excited to welcome Nicky Romero to The Day After Festival going down January 10-12th in Panama City.

Dance Responsibly at The Day After Festival

Panamá’s The Day After Festival is right around the corner and we are about to have the time of our lives! But before we get down to the sounds of Hardwell, Calvin Harris and Afrojack at our main stage, we’ve got some helpful tips and information to make sure you and your friends stay safe and responsible at this year’s event.

Stay Hydrated

There will be a lot of dancing January 10-12th and sometimes people will get sick from overheating and dehydration. We encourage you to drink lots of water, but remember drinking too much water can be dangerous!

Accidents surrounding music events have been associated with low levels of electrolytes that are lost along with water when one becomes dehydrated. Such low levels of electrolytes, especially salt, can lead to brain swelling, seizures, heart problems and even death.

So be sure to alternate between water and sports drinks that will naturally be provided for you. Gatorade will be made available upon request at information and medical booths located throughout the festival grounds.

Festival Costumes Encouraged

We will have world renowned acts pumping great music all night, so be sure to wear something comfortable, lightweight and easy to dance in. Dark colors absorb heat rays, so avoid wearing all dark clothes. You should also steer away from heavy fabrics and faux furs, always remembering that comfortable tennis shoes are the best option on the dance floor.

Find Your Buddy

The Day After Festival is set to draw in thousands of amazing people from the Americas, so it could be really easy to get separated from your group. Always keep track of where your friends are by setting up meeting points and sticking together.

Look out for one another. If you and your friends have been sweating, grab some water for the group to replenish nutrients lost – you can’t live off dancing alone. We will have personnel stationed around the festival, so be sure to ask for help if you or one of your friends needs it.

Is There a Doctor in the House?

Medical personnel will not only be readily accessible but ready to assist you at any time in the medical tent. Assistance is available to you should you need anything at all. Gatorade will also be made available upon request.

If you are feeling unwell, seek medical attention immediately. Your health and safety is more important than waiting for the drop.

There are plenty of ways to stay safe at The Day After Festival this year, so don’t miss out on your chance to go. Tickets are still available, buy your tickets today!
