Meltdown Music Festival Sound Powered by L-ACOUSTICS K1

We’re excited to announce Meltdown Music Festival will now feature a full L-ACOUSTICS K1 stadium line array sound system. The K1, considered by many to be the finest sound system in the world, is truly a treat in sound. We’re sure you’ll hear (and feel) the incredible quality of the K1 throughout the festival.

After 15 years of research after the launch of the V:DOSC, L-ACOUSTICS introduced the K1, which was recognized with the top prize for “Indispensable Technology – Audio” at the 10th annual Parnelli Awards.

The K1, designed primarily for large festivals and stadium sound, was recently featured at Kaskade’s Staples Center performance and at Ultimate Music Experience in South Padre.

Sound Off With Meltdown Music Festival Artist Candyland!

The countdown is on! We are so psyched to unveil 2013’s Meltdown Music Festival adventures at Le Grave Field in Fort Worth, just a day away from now. We will live out our “We Are All Together” motto when artists and party-goers from all corners of the world dance to an eclectic array of sounds and performances this Saturday, April 27th. Have you bought tickets yet? One of the Meltdown artists who excel at innovative production and DJing style is Santa Barbara based duo, Candyland.

Candyland have only been producing since 2011, but it didn’t take long for their big break to come at all. In early 2012, Ethan Davis and Josie Martin won the Bingo Players ‘Rattle’ remix contest, hosted by Beatport. The remix, released on Spinnin’ Records, was a huge success and topped Beatport’s Dubstep chart for weeks. Then in November of that same year, the duo scored yet another win with Skrillex and Damian Marley’s “Make It Bun Dem” remix contest, hosted on Beatport as well.

Their debut EP Bring the Rain proves their mainstay power and versatility. Travelling through their electro house dubstep, glitch hop, and drum & bass avenues, trying to pin down Candyland’s style would be quite difficult. The title track on the EP morphs into a few different styles. Starting off with a toe-tapping, melodic electro-house vibe, the track touches on some vocals and piano, but then builds to a huge drop with half-step rhythm.

Watching Candyland perform live is equally as impressive to their work in the studio. Outside of their bass-heavy influences and catchy beats, the boys incorporate a real drum set and do live drumming as a part of their energy-ridden sets, setting them apart from many of their peers. We loved their close out set during Mixify’s Meltdown Pre-Festival, but we can’t wait for the real thing this Saturday when Candyland takes the stage at La Grave Field.

Join us at Meltdown Music Festival for Candyland this Saturday, April 27th! Tickets are still available, buy your tickets now!

Meltdown Music Festival announces venue to change to LaGrave Field in Fort Worth

Fort Worth ballpark offers fewer restrictions on sound levels for fans.

Promoters of Meltdown Music Festival, an electronic music festival being held Saturday, April 27 in QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie, announced today they have changed the venue for Saturday’s festival to LaGrave Field in Fort Worth, Texas. Festival performance times and age requirements will remain the same and tickets bought previously from authorized outlets will be honored.

“Making a switch away from QuikTrip Park was a difficult decision considering the great show of support from the Park’s representatives and the fact Meltdown is only a few days away,” explained Evan Bailey, Meltdown Music Festival spokesperson. “However, showcasing Meltdown in the most fitting setting for the fans and artists is what led us to the change. We are honored by the generosity LaGrave Field has shown us in allowing use of their facility and we are excited to hold the event in a venue with best possible setting for live music. Our first priority is always to create the best atmosphere for the fans, artists and the communities we operate in.”

The event is expected to draw thousands of attendees and features Grammy Award-winning artist Justice as well as internationally renowned electronic music acts Flux Pavilion and many more.

“With multiple events playing out this weekend here in the entertainment district of Grand Prairie, and with concerns of sound cross over, sound levels and potential traffic issues, we have moved Meltdown to LaGrave Field in Fort Worth,” said John P. Bilbow, Executive Vice President and General Manager for Grand Prairie Airhogs Baseball. “We believe that this will maintain the best possible concert experience for the artist and concert goers and all parties involved.”

The change in venue was determined by promoters Prototype Industries, Full Access and Disco Donnie Presents to be especially advantageous because it offers fewer restrictions on sound levels, which allows patrons to optimally enjoy the event and later into in the evening. Meltdown Music Festival will now conclude at 1am.

“We determined LaGrave Field to be the best venue for festival, because it offers attendees a better live music experience, coupled with access to the lodging and dining options found in Forth Worth,” Bailey said.
