Meltdown Music Festival pledges donations to benefit fertilizer plant explosion victims
Meltdown Music Festival’s mantra “We Are All Together” is taking on new meaning to festival organizers following the deadly explosion at a fertilizer plant in West, Texas last week. Organizers announced the festival will work alongside fans to offer assistance to the victims of the explosion, which killed 15 and injured more than 160 people.
“Our heartfelt sympathies are with the people of West, Texas, following this terrible event,” said Jeremy Word, one of Meltdown Music Festival’s organizers. “West is one of our neighbors and the Meltdown Music Festival community has pledged to help them.”
Meltdown Music Festival organizers, Prototype Industries, Full Access and Disco Donnie Presents, have committed to donating $1 per ticket to assist victims of the explosion and their families. Meltdown will also match donations collected from fans during the festival. Donations will be accepted during festival operating hours of 4pm-1am, April 27 at LaGrave Field in Fort Worth, Texas.

Sound Off With Meltdown Music Festival Artist Deniz Koyu!
Meltdown Music Festival is overflowing with diverse talent ranging in age from all over the globe. Deniz Koyu might be the epitome of this statement. The young and extremely talented producing DJ making the heads of older veterans and newcomers turn.
The German born Turk Deniz Akcakoyunlu was only five when his parents forced him to learn how to play the piano. “I didn’t like it at all, but my parents forced me. I hated it at the time, but now I am happy they did it.” He later discovered a love of synthesizers and drums, getting inspiration from artists like Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, and Kraftwerk. As a teenager, Deniz spent his free time editing and then DJing his favorite songs on tape recorders. All of that hard work would start to pay off in 2011 when Deniz’s releases “Tung” and “Hertz” along with remixes “Dangerous” and “Turn It Down” became house anthems for venues and festivals across the world, being championed by Tiësto, Swedish House Mafia, Avicii, David Guetta, and Calvin Harris. “Breakthrough DJ/Producer” and “a blazing new talent” are just a few of the phrases used by industry greats to describe Deniz.
Fresh off of successful US tour with Danny Avila, dBerrie and Mikael Weermets, Generation Wild, Deniz continues on in 2013 with his new radio show on Electric Area called Bongbastic and a few collaborations with Tiësto, Otto Knows, and Thomas Gold. We hope to hear some of these future releases this Saturday when Deniz Koyu takes the stage at Meltdown Music Festival.
Join us at Meltdown Music Festival for Deniz Koyu this Saturday, April 27th! Tickets are still available, buy your tickets now!

Sunset Music Festival Artist Spotlight: Popeska
Sunset Music Festival strives to accommodate a diversity of musical tastes. From dubstep, electro, to progressive, there is something for everyone to enjoy at this year’s event. We feel that variety is the spice of life, and if you agree, you should get your tickets and join us this Memorial Day weekend. One of the artists on our roster knows a little bit about variety is Atlanta native, Popeska.
Popeska, known to his mailman as Ralf Popescu, started off from humble beginnings and if you ask him, he never thought that electronic music would become his career. Producing in his dorm room at Georgia Tech, Popeska uploaded tracks to Soundcloud just as a hobby. Drawing in listeners with a steady output of addicting material, he soon garnered global attention when he was the first to be signed to Wolfgang Gartner’s Kindergarten label. Having already shared a stage with heavyweights like Datsik, Rusko, and Cazzette the first year of his signing, it’s obvious the 20-year old isn’t going any where anytime soon.
One of the many things we love about Popeska is his wide arsenal of killer tunes that he drops in his sets. Though he draws inspiration from sources like folk, classical and jazz, his track selection fluctuates between the electro house, dubstep and moombahton styles, but individually are near impossible to pin to one specific genre.
We can’t wait for Popeska to bring his banging drums, crisp melodic sounds, and indescribable drops when he takes the stage at Sunset Music Festival. Have you bought your tickets yet?
