Day After Artist Profile: David Solano

artist david solanoWhether he’s cooking up some hit tracks in the studio, or performing in front of thousands, Day After Festival artist David Solano remains a dark force in dance music today. Having had much success being involved with some of the genre’s most respected charts and labels, there’s no denying Solano is taking the club scene by storm.

Born in Bogota, Colombia, Solano has been an avid music lover for quite some time, “Music has always been a part of my life. I was in a band since the age 13 where I played guitar. I always thought I would be either a rock star with my band or a professional soccer player, which was my other passion.” After moving to his current residence of Miami at the age of 15, the metropolis opened up a new passion for the teen – dance music. “When I first got into EDM, trance was the biggest genre. I was following guys like Tiësto, Armin Van Buuren, and George Acosta. I was also a huge fan of hardstyle guys like Deepack, all of whom have definitely influenced my style.”

Embracing every aspect of his music discovery, Solano went to the drawing board and began producing. Luckily, his band experience proved to have been a bigger aid than he imagined, “When I was in my band I always liked playing the other instruments as well, like when we took band breaks, I would jump on the drums and go crazy ’til the drummer would tell me to stop because I was fucking up his drum sticks and [I had a] similar scenario with the keyboard and bass. That’s why I got into EDM. When you produce a house track, you basically play every instrument.”

The world started seeing Solano’s name for his remixing efforts in 2010 on tracks like “Acid Trip” and “When The World Began,” the latter of which appeared on many compilations and radio shows like Tiësto’s world-famous Club Life podcast and the Juicy Ibiza series. In a phrase, Solano hit the ground running and his music productions continued to be more popular than the last. Solano continues to rise as one of the most highly-requested up-and-coming artists in the industry which is why it came as no surprise that the World’s largest paint party, Life In Color, named him resident of the renowned event.

Every year has seen one big room hit after the other like his “Brass Knuckles” remix with Leewise, his remix of Robbie Rivera’s “All We Are,” and his original tunes “Striker” and “Kaboom.” Lest we forget his recent collaboration with R3hab for Life In Color’s official anthem “Do It.”

An expert in electro and progressive house anthems, we can’t wait to go kaboom in Figali Plaza when David Solano makes his way to Panamà City for The Day After Festival on January 10-12th. Buy your tickets and secure your spot to the celebration today!
