Ultimate Music Experience Artist Profile: Deorro
The Ultimate Music Experience may start on March 13th, but the fun starts a day early as we head to Clayton’s Beach Resort for the official pre-party. One of the artists performing at the pre-party is one of the most sought after young producer/DJs in the business, Deorro.
Known to his postmaster as Erick Orrosquiesta, California-based Deorro acquired a taste for guitar and drums when he was 14. Initially performing under the moniker of Ton!c, the budding talent started DJing at local gigs and house events. Though he could express his love for music through DJing, that love would turn into a career when he began producing his own music.
Using Soundcloud as his main platform, “Ton!c” began to acquire a rather substantial following. Tracks like “Fire” and “Voodoo” became international hits in the blogosphere and helped to secure some bookings Down U4nder. After selling out two events in Australia, a benchmark in his career was set and soon after, Ton!c became Deorro, “Well, to me the name change is sort of like a fresh start, I do like many releases that I have under Ton!c, but I think its time to take it to the next level – new name, new road. And so far so good.”
With a seemingly endless amount of original productions, Deorro’s dedication has helped transform his outlook of life, “I never imagined it would be like this, traveling all days around the world. The thing that makes me very happy is that I can help my sons and my family. In my childhood, things were not very good but now that I have reach this success I think it’s time to give back to my parents and my people what they gave me. I’ll never stop working!”
“Never stop working” is an understatement. In the past month alone, Deorro released “Goodbye” with Zoofunktion and Adrian Delgado, a remix of Axwell and Sick Individuals in “I AM,” and a collaboration with Tommie Sunshine called “Super Hot Fiyah.” Dubbing his unique style of electro house “Panda Funk,” his label, also sporting the PandaFunk name, aims to showcase his signature sounds and help other upcoming artists hone their own sound.
Currently celebrating the release of his latest single “Unspoiled Perfection” with Adrian Delgado and Madeleine Jayne, you can hear Deorro and his unspoiled perfection when he takes the stage at Clayton’s Beach Resort in South Padre Island, Texas for the official Ultimate Music Experience pre-party on March 12th. Tickets are available online, grab yours today to be a part of the #PandaFam.

Ultimate Music Experience Sound Clash: Paper Diamond, Keys N Krates
Ultimate Music Experience is creeping up on us, and if you haven’t bought your tickets yet, what are you waiting for? Join us for an epic Spring Break vacation on March 12-15th, starting with the official UME Pre-Party with Steve Aoki and then the anticipated three-day event. Buy your tickets today for the best possible price!
For today’s sound clash, we are mashing two of our acts who are honing in on a sound that is completely their own and performing that sound live. Though one is known for his tech-savvy work space and the other for being a “trap band,” we can’t wait to see what Paper Diamond and Keys N Krates have for us when they take the stage at this year’s Ultimate Music Experience.
Paper Diamond
There’s a lot of buzz surrounding Ultimate Music Experience talent Paper Diamond. The solo act has created a unique sound within his productions unlike anyone any of his peers.
Before infecting audiences with music rich in bass-driven beats, catchy vocals and melodies, Paper Diamond played bass for the one-of-a-kind outfit, The Pnuma Trio. Since their inception in 2004, the group wowed critics with their calculated fusion of classical, jazz, funk, hip hop, and drum and bass – it’s no wonder Paper Diamond is so versatile.
Paper Diamond’s debut EP Levitate featured tracks that embodied raw energy complete with driving beats and rich tones pinned within atmospheric synthesizers. His output always hits on multiple genres, working off his original glitch hop style and adding some flavor from dubstep, electro pop, funk, moombahton and trap styles like seen on his latest effort, the Paragon EP.
Known for his dynamically interactive live sets, seeing Paper Diamond live is not to be missed. Gearing up for 2014 “Cold Crush” tour, Paper Diamond hinted at what we can expect, “I’m using my iPad on stage to control two computers, one has Ableton to play the music, which then sends a MIDI signal to the second computer, where I can control all of the LEDs and live visuals on stage that will capture the nonstop energy of my set. So basically, I get to represent myself in not just a musical manner, but I get to provide an overall visual experience for my fans as well.”
Bringing the “Cold Crush” tour to Schlitterbahn Waterpark, join us as Paper Diamond performs at Ultimate Music Experience on March 13-15th. Tickets are on sale now and available online.

Keys N Krates
You’d be hard-pressed to find another trio that is creating music like Keys N Krates. Rapidly etching their name in the catalogue of heavyweights, the boys have amassed a large following not only because of their hip hop and bass-heavy sounds, but because they are playing these sounds as a live band.
Formed in Toronto in 2008, the trio sought to bring their blend of live electronic instrumentation to the stage. Though many are quick to label them as the world’s only “trap band,” the boys have learned to embrace the title. “At the end of the day, people are going to call us whatever they want. We are referencing everything from classic house music to Timbaland in our beats, but I think the trap references tap into what the current sound is, and we are okay with that.”
Their first release, though not comprised of original productions, was Live Re-Mixing 101 in 2009 and showcased a series of tracks that journeyed a history of hip hop and dance music that was stripped apart and rebuilt in real time. They followed that compilation with the Blackout EP. Released in 2011, the extended player was filled with tracks adorning fat bass lines, synth chords, live instrumentation, and electro flavor.
Their most recent body of work, the SOLOW EP is out on Dim Mak Records in September 2013. We hope to hear the banging single “Dum Dee Dum” when Keys N Krates perform at Ultimate Music Experience this year. Tickets are still available online.

Ultimate Music Experience Artist Profile: Carnage
From being handpicked to play some of the biggest festivals in the world, to switching gears and making a name for himself in the big room house circuit, there is no denying the impact Ultimate Music Experience talent Carnage has had on dance music in 2013. And the best part? He’s only getting started.
Born Diamanté Blackmon in Guatemala City, Guatemala, a young Carnage always had music in his life, “I was raised in Guatemala until I was 8, and yeah it was pretty chill and we used to listen to whatever – it was never a ‘no music’ kind of thing, just whatever was playing, ya know?” After moving to rural Maryland, Carnage started producing on Fruity Loops, mostly out of boredom, “Living in the country, there was nothing really to do. I used to rap, so I thought making my own beats would both be cool and pass the time. I started a group with my friend Bruce, who also rapped, and I started hosting his mixtapes. He [pushed] me into sampling music and pulling eclectic points of reference into the music I was making. From here I got into making beats and developing them into proper tracks, and as time passed, the platform for this music became more and more relevant.”
Carnage first came to our attention in 2012 with his remix of Hardwell’s massive single “Spaceman.” Dubbing his sound “festival trap,” the Los Angeles based talent burst onto the scene and things haven’t slowed down since. Even UME veteran Tiësto has dropped some productions from the Chipotle lover. With his outright refusal to be pigeonholed to one genre, Carnage has steered away from his original trap style, If I want to make a rap record I make it; if I want to make a house record I make it. If I want to make some pretty shit I make some pretty shit.”
His latest releases are dripping with that big room “festival-style” sound in genres like deep and electro house, drum and bass and anything else that strikes his fancy. Calling 2013 his most life changing year, Carnage is marching into 2014 with a documentary and an artist album to be released later this year, “Imagine… a fucking Carnage after movie, like my EDC one – not just about one festival [though], but about this last year and what really happens behind the scenes. And all of your favorite people are in it (trust me, everyone’s in it).”
Come dance to the sounds of the #ChipotleGang leader at this year’s Ultimate Music Experience on March 13-15th. Tickets are on sale and moving fast, so grab yours today!

Disco Donnie Presents turns 20 this Spring and to help celebrate our milestone, we’ll be hosting 20th anniversary themed events, content, and features throughout the year so that you all join in on the party – plus, it’s way more fun than the traditional anniversary gifts of china or platinum.
The celebration kicks off with Zoolu 20, the legendary three-day Mardi Gras party in New Orleans on March 1-3rd.
