Feel the 'Terrorvision' This Fall With Figure and Disco Donnie Presents

Just in time for the fall season, everyone’s favorite horrific producer Figure is about to embark on a new hair-raising experience across America with the Terrorvision tour.

Hailing from Indiana, Figure, known to his friends and family as Josh Gard, started his career in the music industry as a hip hop producer for well-known rappers. But his love of artists like The Prodigy and The Chemical Brothers gave Gard the courage to dive head-first into the dance music pool. His first experiments were with electro house but soon, he fell in love with the world of broken beats and bass.

Donning a new name as Figure, The Doses/War Fair EP was the first to show his horror-influenced sound but it was his 2011 EP Monsters of Drumstep that landed him on every industry radar. Audiences loved the culture clash and Figure has embraced the eerie vibes ever since, becoming bass music’s prince of darkness.

Figure is a wizard in the studio not only in terms of his quality craftsmanship but the sheer volume of his collection as well. The best part is that he loves giving away most of his music and his Soundcloud is just an endless supply of his energetically percussive drums and grimey low-ends. Getting ready to release the anticipated Monsters Volume 5, it’s time to celebrate – Figure style.

Invading 14 cities across North America with Space Laces, Terrorvision is will be taking on a live set up to compliment Figure’s quality collection. As an extension to the music, audiences will be treated to a smorgasbord of horror with improvised visuals provided by the main man himself. “I wanted to create the ability to compile tons of custom edited clips the same way I have compiled tons of music for my sets over the years. I’m a horror buff and I’ve amassed an extensive collection of classic shock theatre and obscure films which is definitely an inspiration for the visual direction on this tour.”

Porter Robinson Takes our 'Worlds' Apart in new Mini-Documentary

Checking off another pivotal career milestone this year, North Carolina native Porter Robinson recently released his long-awaited debut album Worlds, this past August. Even now, two months after it was released, the album still gets acclaimed-reviews every week from media and fans alike. Although he’s on the last leg of his 40-date North American tour, the 22-year old is only in the eye of the proverbial storm – another whirlwind will soon be underway with the start of his European tour. But despite the hard work and heavy schedule, Porter is still all smiles – he’s doing what he’s always wanted to do!

One of the things we (and critics) love most about Worlds and its accompanying tour is that it’s completely original and a breath of fresh air from the expected sounds of the main stage. Porter crafted a journey with beautiful chord progressions, mirroring a cerebral, almost fairytale-like composition overtop playfully glitchy edits. His live performance is exactly that – live. Avoiding CDJs all together, Porter uses keyboards, drum machines, and microphones to recreate his blissful tracks. When you add that with stunning visual production, it further proves that the entire Worlds experience is one that you just cannot miss.

Earlier this week, Porter uploaded episode one of a mini tour documentary called Worlds Live Tour. The first of an impending series, episode one is four-minutes long and chronicles the hours before his first show. It also gives a behind-the-scenes look at Porter’s trials and errors working with specialists to bring his vision to life. “My VJ Ghostdad flew to where I live and stayed at my house for like four days,” Porter remembers, “We worked dusk ’til dawn, without ever leaving the house. Ben, my light guy, has been doing a very similar thing – I think he’s slept five hours in the last four days.”

Check out Porter Robinson’s mini-documentary Worlds Live Tour: Episode One below, but nothing beats seeing it in person. Lucky for you, there’s still some time left to witness the beauty of Worlds in a city near you. Join us on our remaining partnering dates:
