We're Deep in 'The Throes of Winter' With Seven Lions

Now five years since his first release, Seven Lions has enjoyed a quick rise to the top of the bass music’s heavy-hitters thanks to his aptly coined prog-step sound. Continuing his sonic foray in 2015, the California-based talent takes a step away from his signature melodic sounding dubstep on the forthcoming The Throes of Winter EP, due out on Casablanca Records on March 3rd. Celebrating the release the only way he knows how, Seven Lions is melting the ice the season with an accompanying tour!

Coming down from the high of last year’s EP Worlds Apart, Seven Lions has been pummeling through 2015 releasing material from forthcoming EP. Blessing audiences with “Lose Myself” and “A Way To Say Goodbye” back in January and February, respectively, Seven Lions steers away from his spins past musical habits, “I wanted to start making the music more thematic, interesting, and part of something larger,” he explains. “Since artists aren’t releasing proper albums anymore, it makes sense to create something that’s digitally artistic with real cohesion as opposed to tossing out singles and just haphazardly seeing what sticks.” Experimenting with mixed tempos, thriving drops, dark themes, and complex melodies, The Throes of Winter is solid from start to finish and while it might not be the sound you’re used to, it’s certainly a sound you won’t soon forget.

Kicking off the tour with a release party in New York City on MArch 5th, you’re about to enjoy the The Throes of Winter as Disco Donnie Presents brings Seven Lions to a city near you. Join us on our partnering dates…
