Ascarate Park

SCMF is returning to Ascarate Park once again this year and even as the festival continues to grow, the location remains a perfect backdrop for the two-day experience. As El Paso County’s largest public recreational park, the 448 acres provide wide, open spaces for our three stages, vendors, art installations, and more.

Wait – Where am I Again?

Don’t get lost. Get directions. Ascarate Park can be accessed by the I-10 East, I-10 West, and highway TX-375 so plan your best route and map your SCMF journey from your exact starting location. Ascarate Park is located at 6900 Delta Dr, El Paso, TX 79905.

What’s the Deal With Parking?

Plenty of parking will be available at the venue and will cost you only $5.00 per vehicle (cash only) each day. The lots open at 4:00 PM and close at 3:00 AM. We know you want to soak up as much SCMF as you can, but camping, sleeping cars, and tailgating on the grounds is NOT permitted. And remember to carpool! Not only is carpooling eco-friendly, it’s also way more fun.

Hop on the bus Gus!

El Paso’s Sun Metro provides drop-offs right by the venue on Route 23 and Route 24. A day pass is $3.50 and can be purchased on the bus. Plan ahead and map the best metro route from your location to the venue.

We’re about to enjoy another year of Sun City Music Festival at Ascarate Park this Labor Day weekend, but before the gates open and before the beat drops, we’ve got some helpful tips, tricks and information to ensure you and your friends stay safe and responsible out on the dance floor.

Stay Hydrated

There will be a lot of dancing at this year’s event and sometimes people will get sick from overheating and dehydration. We encourage you to drink lots of water, but remember drinking too much water can be dangerous! Accidents surrounding music events have been associated with low levels of electrolytes that are lost along with water when one becomes dehydrated. Such low levels of electrolytes, especially salt, can lead to brain swelling, seizures, heart problems and even death. So be sure to alternate between water and sports drinks that will be provided for you.

Costumes Encouraged

We will have world renowned artists pumping great music all night, so be sure to wear something comfortable, lightweight and easy to dance in. Dark colors absorb heat rays, so avoid wearing all dark clothes. You should also steer away from heavy fabrics and faux furs, always remembering that comfortable tennis shoes are the best option on the dance floor.

Find Your Buddy

Sun City Music Festival brings thousands upon thousands of amazing people from across the world, so it could be really easy to get separated from your group due to the sheer size of the event. Always keep track of where your friends are by setting up meeting points and sticking together. Look out for one another. If you and your friends have been sweating, grab some water for the group to replenish nutrients lost – you can’t live off dancing alone. We will have personnel stationed around the grounds, so be sure to ask for help if you or one of your friends needs it.

Is There A Doctor In The House?

Medical personnel will not only be readily accessible but ready to assist you at any time in the medical tent. From Band-Aids to aspirin, assistance is available to you should you need anything at all. Gatorade will also be made available upon request. If you are feeling unwell, seek medical attention immediately. Your health and safety is more important than waiting for the drop.

We are just days away from the gates opening for the return of Sun City Music Festival at Ascarate Park and we’re excited to bring back the free official photo booth! This year, we’ve doubled the number of machines and backdrops so you can take fun and creative pictures with your friends with half the line.

Located near the vendor area in the middle of the festival grounds, you’ll be able to email and share your photos online within seconds with the SCMF social media sharing station. The booth will be open daily at 6:00 PM through 12:00 AM, so come stop by and strike a pose. We’ll see you there!

Since there’s gonna be tons of great music blasting at Ascarate Park for Sun City Music Festival this Labor Day weekend, dancing is certainly on the agenda. But man cannot live on dancing alone – you need food too. This year, were excited to welcome some of the Sun City’s favorite food vendors to satisfy a variety taste buds. From burgers to veggies, here are some the eats you’ll find at SCMF.

Clara’s Fruit

Cool down from the El Paso hear at Claras Fruit truck. Here, you can find fresh-cut fruit, smoothies, and fresh fruit juice.

Desert Rustic Kitchen

Take your taste buds on a wild ride at the Desert Rustic Kitchen. With a menu ranging from hamburgers, tacos, fajitas, quesadillas, and hot dogs, you’ll probably want to order everything.

El Jefe

Not only can you find tacos at El Jefe’s Mobile Taqueria, but you can also get bacon wrapped hot dogs, tortas, spiral potatoes, and nachos.

El Paso’s Wurst

Serving the best of the wurst, you can grab juicy bratwursts, hot dogs, sausage sandwiches and burgers all at El Paso’s Wurst.

Mel’s Multi Wagon

Often called the best catfish in El Paso, Mel’s Multi Wagon, or “The Catfish Man,” specializes cook-to-perfection catfish, philly cheesesteak (also made with chicken), shrimp po boys, and brisket.

NOW Kettlecorn

NOW Kettlecorn gets its commanding name because everything is made fresh. With 10 flavors of popped selections, this truck is perfect for when need a taste of something salty and sweet.

Off The Grill

Off The Grill has been voted EPTimes Best of the Border 2013 best food truck and Best BBQ Food Truck in America 2014 by mobile-cuisine.com, and the BBQ speaks for itself!

Sgt. Cheddars

What’s better than a warm, gooey grilled cheese? Customizing it however you want! At Sgt. Cheddars you can do just that with their signature gourmet grilled cheese and decked out baked potatoes.

Spork

Like a fork shoved on a spoon, Spork features a fusion of eats like the meat or veggie stir fry or the more traditional baos and banh mi sandwiches.

We’re gearing up for the return of Sun City Music Festival at Ascarate Park this Labor Day weekend and we are very happy to announce that Planet SCMF will be returning to this year’s event!

Get ready for the best weekend of the summer as Sun City Music Festival returns to El Paso in just a few days. In preparation with the upcoming event, we wanted to remind you of some important ticket information to make sure you have a fun and carefree Sun City experience.

If you procrastinate and you know it, clap your hands. Haven’t bought your tickets to the festival yet? You’ve still got time! Online ticket sales will continue on through to the day of the event. And please, save yourself a hassle and make our job easier by avoiding frauds and scalpers like the plague!

Ticket Warnings

Make sure your ticket purchase is too legit to quit by buying only from our authorized ticket outlets and partners including Happy House and The Headstand stores in El Paso, LA Underground in Albuquerque, Eventbrite, and of course, right here on the amazing SCMF website.

DO NOT REMOVE YOUR WRISTBAND. Tickets and wristbands will not be reissued under any circumstance and are not transferable, so please hold onto them.

Eventbrite Mobile App

If you have a smartphone and purchased your tickets online via Eventbrite, take advantage of the Eventbrite App on both iOS and Android devices. Skip the hassle of printing and dragging your ticket around, just pull up your tickets on your phone to check into the event.

Rain or Shine

Sun City Music Festival will take place, come rain or shine – but it’s looking like shine. Our talents have confirmed their appearance, but sometimes things like visas and flight delays can detour the plans – so acts are subject to change without notice.

Reserving a Locker

At SCMF, we’ve got your back…pack! Keep your hands free and give your back a break by reserving an on-site locker before you arrive at the event. Lockers are approximately 12″ high x 12″ wide x 18″ deep and include charging units inside for your mobile device – awesome, right?

When you head to Ascarate Park this Labor Day weekend, you can rejoice at the fact we’ll be providing free water refill stations throughout the festival grounds this year at Sun City Music Festival. We also welcome attendees who choose to bring CamelBaks and bota bags which are allowed this year. All CamelBaks and bota bags must be empty, no larger than 17″ X 9″ X 7″, and are subject to search upon entry to the festival.

You can also bring previously purchased Disco Donnie Presents and SMG Events water bottles, but they must be empty when you arrive. Water bottles will also be available for purchase at our merchandise booth. If you purchase a water from a vendor, you can then use that container for free refills at the station as well. Remember – stay hydrated as you dance all day and night!

Before the event hits the Sun City next week on Saturday, August 30th and Sunday, August 31st, we’re extending the lock down on weekend ticket prices until Friday, August 22nd at midnight. In addition to weekend passes, single-day tickets are also available for a limited time. So if you couldn’t get your shift at work covered or you had prior engagements, you can still join us on the dance floor this Labor Day weekend!

We’ve seen an increase in fraudulent ticket sales and scammers. Please don’t take the risk just to try to save a few dollars. You don’t want to get turned away because your ticket is either fake or invalid – buy from authorized ticket outlets only!
