Celebrate Thanksgiving with Sirius XM and Something Wicked

It’s hard to believe that Something Wicked was four weeks ago on October 25-26th. The memories are still close to our hearts, but time has not allowed them to be as vivid as they once were. But we’ve got some exciting news that is sure to bring back every last detail you experienced at the Halloween event.

We’re teaming up with Sirius XM’s Electric Area to air Something Wicked sets all Thanksgiving weekend. Starting on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27th at 12:00 PM EST, tune into the satellite station and listen to the sounds that came from the Shadowlands, Mystic Meadows, Bass Crypt, and Beatport stages all weekend until Tuesday, December 2nd at 10:00 AM EST. You’ll even get to hear interviews from some of the many talents that performed during the double-decker weekend.

Re-live the Halloween event with five days of music on #ElectricArea and celebrate your holiday with Something Wicked!

We're Sending a Special Thank You Shout-Out to the People who Made Something Wicked Happen

There were many performances that we enjoyed this past weekend at Something Wicked, but not every one of them took place on stage.

Behind the scenes of every major event is a network of people working hard to make it all possible. Disco Donnie Presents and NightCulture would like to send our “network” a special thank you shout out: the artists and performers who came ready to dazzle audiences in their fully decked-out Halloween outfits; the event staff who gave up their weekend to give a hand wherever it was needed; the rows of delicious food vendors who kept our stomachs full and thirsts quenched; the Sam Houston Race Park staff and security who made sure all our ghouls and goblins stayed safe; and the city of Houston, the Houston Police Department, and the Houston Fire Department for dancing with us another year and honoring your commitment to protect and serve.

It doesn’t matter how big or how small, everyone’s assistance helped make this year’s Something Wicked the biggest edition yet – and it went off without a hitch!

Thanks again for everything – We’ll see you next year!

Thank you for an Amazing Weekend at Something Wicked

Our first thought waking up this morning was, “Is there a rewind button on this past weekend so we can hit play again?” And judging by the incoming tweets, we know we aren’t the only ones who had the same thought either.

Even if we can’t rewind, we’d still like to give many, many thanks to all of you who met us at Sam Houston Race Park for a ridiculously wicked weekend, marking the return of Texas’ biggest Halloween festival for dance music, Something Wicked. Everyone came ready to have fun and dance under the stars and we especially loved seeing your creative Halloween costumes and totems as well as those Wicked kandi accessories.

It’s safe to say nearly every inch of our bodies are aching and sore from dancing and walking – but it is/was totally worth it. Over the course of the two-day event, we met strangers who are now our friends, became part of a vibrant synergy interconnecting our dance floor of thousands, and created memories that will last forever. The fact we did it all that while dancing to track selections from many of our favorite artists is the just the wicked icing over-top a devious cake.

There are countless performances that we loved on both October 25th and October 26th, and for a variety of different reasons too! On Saturday, PandaFunk leader, Deorro, delivered an insane set, overflowing with energy and had corresponding visuals that were just as intense. Things went from #TURNT to #PLURNT once Flosstradamus took to the stage, proving the #HDYNATION was well-represented during the Wicked weekend.

Unabashedly pushing the tempo during his relentless, kick drum-driven set, HeadHunterz pace left little room for error but always left enough room to dance. With help from his beloved signature low-end aesthetic, Bassnectar’s closing set gave everyone in the crowd a full-on bass massage. Every track he played pummeled through the speakers like a triumphant earthquake of sound that you could feel down to your bones.

There was a perpetual feeling of love and unity over at the Mystic Meadows stage as the #trancefamily gathered to see pioneers of the genre and its taste-makers like Ferry Corsten, Cosmic Gate and Simon “Psy” Patterson.

For Sunday, there were more treats than tricks as our day two was stacked with performances by breakout and veteran house heroes, championing nearly every sub genre associated to the four-to-the-floor beat. The Beatport stage hosted deep house purveyors like G house connoisseurs Amine Edge & Dance, but if you’re on a future house or future bass tip, then the performances of My Nu Leng, Bixel Boys, Tchami, and Michael Brun were not to be missed. Kaskade to us on a melodic journey as he closed out the festival with a bang bringing waves in our atmosphere with fireworks!

With two days of continuous talent on three stages, our feet are definitely happy to go in recovery mode now that it’s time for this year’s event to come to a close – but fortunately, we’ll see you all in 363 days. Once again, we want to sincerely thank each and every one of you who came out and made this Something Wicked the biggest and most-devious edition yet. There’s no way we could’ve done it without you!

Reserve a Locker!

At Something Wicked, we’ve got your back…pack! Keep your hands free and give your back a break by reserving an on-site locker before you arrive at the event. Lockers are approximately 12″ high x 12″ wide x 18″ deep and include charging units inside for your mobile device – awesome, right?

Anyone who wants to light up the night can head to the Glow Motion booth on-site.
