In memory of Leon Jackson, a dance music pioneer from Nashville, we come together to celebrate his life. Nashville dance promoter and owner of Ultimo Presents, Leon Jackson left us on Nov. 24 due to stomach cancer. Jackson might have been one of the most important proponents of electronic music this city has ever seen. He proved that electronic music was economically viable in the country music capital of the world. He provided a space that allowed local electronic musicians to blossom, to flourish and to succeed. He was a role model and mentor to an entire generation of promoters, performers and fans. He IS the reason that Electronic Music is what it is here in Nashville.
Our hope is that we can all come together to celebrate the life of the man who gave this city an opportunity to open it’s eyes to a new movement. A man who put his heart and soul into his music, his friends, his fans, and last but not least, his family. We all became his family and above all, what Leon wanted was to give back to everyone. He wanted everyone to have their part in the movement. He just wanted people to smile and enjoy life. So we come together to do just that on January 26th, 2017. This is a celebration of his life above all. He always had a love for Kaskade and we could not think of a better person to play at his tribute. So come celebrate with us, put a smile on your face and let’s give Leon a show he deserves!
Kaskade will be performing in Nashville again as one of the last requests of Leon Jackson. It has been 4 and 1/2 years since Kaskade has graced Nashville with his glorious music and we cannot wait to have him here with us again, returning to Limelight on January 26, 2017.
