In celebration of Rock in Rio making its USA debut in the party capital of Las Vegas this May, we’ve been highlighting some of the rock, pop, and dance music talent performing on May 8-9th and May 15-16th with a series of blogs to find out who’s Rockin,’ Poppin,’ and Dancin’ in Rio.

Taking place over two weekends for a total of four days over a whopping 37 acres, there’s no way we could cover all that Rock in Rio has to offer in one round. So we’re back once again with a collection of talent that including the mainstays of the pop and rock world plus emerging, local, and veterans in dance music world.

Linkin Park

No stranger to the Rock in Rio festival having performed thrice at the Lisbon edition, Linkin Park brings it back home to play at the debut event here in the States. The multi-platinum rock band put on a stellar live show producing an avalanche of sound. Tune into their new track with Steve Aoki, “Darker Than Blood,” out now!

Empire of the Sun

Gary Clark Jr.

Perhaps the greatest young guitar player in the world, Gary Clark Jr. fuses influences from blues, jazz, hip hop, and soul into a classic rock and roll sound. The native Austin bluesman dazzled audiences with the timelessness of his debut album, Blak & Blu.

AN21

AN21 has been able to capture international audiences with his big room and progressive blend of house music. When he’s not in the studio or helping his older brother Steve Angello at Size Records, AN21 is smashing sets around the world and you can catch him at Rock in Rio on Friday, May 8th.

Vegas hometown heroes, Caked Up probably won’t bake you a cake any time soon, but they make up for that with their massive trap bangers and booming bass lines. The twerk-tastic duo have amassed an enormous following much thanks to their social media antics but it’s their booty-ready party anthems that keeps everyone on the dance floor. Gaslamp Killer

With roots in Los Angeles’ bass music scene, Gaslamp Killer is perhaps most well-known for co-founding the highly influential weekly event Low End Theory. The series as helped artists like Flying Lotus and Tokimonsta, but when Gaslamp Killer isn’t curating, he’s taste-making, restoring music to a sacred, shamanistic, visceral, and honest place. Gaslamp Killer will be killi’ Rock in Rio on Saturday, May 9th.
