Sun City Music Festival Drop: Baauer prepares for the Infinite Daps Tour; Dillon Francis mixes it up with "Flight 4555" music video

On this week’s edition of the Sun City Music Festival drop, we see some of our bass mavericks switching things up a bit. One is prepping for a different type of mini-tour and the other is showing us his softer side on his latrest video release. All the more reason to get ready to down and dance at Ascarate Park this Labor Day Weekend. Grab your tickets today to score the best deal!

Baauer prepares for the Infinite Daps Tour with R.L. Grime

Bass producer extraordinaires Baauer and R.L. Grime are teaming up for what is sure to be one of the craziest events this summer tour series has to offer. Before Baauer makes his way to Sun City Music Festival this Labor Day weekend, he will be embarking on a different journey. Kicking off this week, the Infinite Daps Tour will feature some banging back-to-back sets from the talented DJs.

Just this past year, Baauer played a key component in hip-hop crossing over into dance music with his #1 Billboard hit “Harlem Shake.” He’s followed up with that success with remixes for Disclosure, No Doubt and Flosstradamus. R.L. Grime has made quite an impact of his own, after releasing his now infamous remix of Kanye West’s “Mercy.”

The tour starts on July 8th at The Ottawa Blues Fest, and continues through to Omaha July 20th. The guys are also bringing producers Ryan Hemsworth and Jim-E Stack along for the ride, for definite exchanges of infinite daps.

Dillon Francis releases music video for “Flight 4555”

As we all know, Sun City Music Festival artist Dillon Franis has a deep love for social media antics. But in his latest video, we get to see a little different side to the L.A. native.

The video for Dillon Francis’ “Flight 4555” is an abbreviated version of the ambient 15-minute remix of his hit single “IDGAFOS.” The video depicts the life of a DJ isn’t always easy. They spend a good portion of their days waiting for delayed flights and people who forget to pick them up at the airport. The moving picture for “Flight 4555” is a tribute to the overworked, sleep-deprived DJs who catch up on sleep in between flights. We’re getting a twinkle, twinkle, little star vibe from this one – which is definitely a change of pace for the Mad Decent superstar.

Sun City Music Festival Artist Profile: Deniz Koyu

Sun City Music Festival is brimming with talented artists of all ages from all around the globe. One act on our roaster who is a prime example of this is Deniz Koyu.

German-born Turk Deniz Akcakoyunlu’s musical prowess began to take shape at a very early age. “I started playing piano when I was a kid, when I was six years old. I got lessons in a music school for a couple of years.” He would later go on to discover a love of synthesizers and drums, getting inspiration from artists like Depeche Mode, Daft Punk, and Kraftwerk. Through his teenage years, Deniz spent his days DJing and editing his favourite tracks using small tape recorders and sampling everything he could. “It took me a while until I got my first keyboard, synthesizers and music software… when I was a teenager, about 15 years old. I got into the music industry when I started making music for fashion brands for websites when I was sixteen. I got some contacts and made some lounge music. Then I started listening to music from Eric Prydz, Steve Angello, and of course Daft Punk. I got hooked on it, so then I tried to produce that kind of music. That’s how I got into it.”

His hard work would start to pay off in 2011 when Deniz’s releases “Tung,” “Hertz,” and his remixes for James Blunt’s “Dangerous” and Kaskade’s “Turn It Down” became huge house anthems at clubs and festivals around the globe, being heavily played by Swedish House Mafia, David Guetta, Calvin Harris and other Sun City acts like Tiësto and Alesso. In the same year, Fedde Le Grand voted Deniz the “Breakthrough DJ/Producer 2011,” while Sebastian Ingrosso called him “big time talent.” His list of accolades would continue in 2012 when MTV added Deniz to their “EDM Rookies To Watch” list, calling him “a blazing new talent.”

Deniz trail-blazed through the start of 2013 with a release on Dirty South’s Phazing label, titled “Halo,” the “Generation Wild” Tour with other Sun City talent Danny Avila which hit up 20 cities in 25 days across North America, and not to mention his highly anticipated release “Rage” on Sebastian Ingrosso’s Refune imprint. We hope to get a little “wild” ourselves when Deniz Koyu takes the stage at this year’s Sun City Music Festival. Buy your tickets today and let’s get bongbastic August 31st and September 1st!
