Get Involved and Join the Monster Block Party Street Team!

We are looking for more volunteers to help grow the Monster Block Party street team. One of the most important elements of any spooktacular event, no matter what size or who’s playing, is how effectively it is promoted. Which is why we need your help to spread the news about this year’s event.

When you join the Monster street team, your input can really make a difference. You would be helping us continue to grow as a festival and make it a mainstay for the city of Nashville. Of course, when you are a part of the freakish action, you’ll be rewarded with some free stuff.

Sound like something you’d be interested in? If yes, simply send us your full name, email address, mobile phone number, location, résumé and a brief description about why you want to join our team to volunteers@discodonniepresents.com

Something Wicked Weekend Warriors: Tommy Trash, Deorro, Dyro

Crack open a cold drink, turn off your work notifications and start relaxing, because the weekend is finally here! Go hang out with your friends and get into some mischief – just promise us you won’t think about work or school. We certainly hope you won’t be thinking about that on Saturday, October 26th when Houston’s premier Halloween event, Something Wicked returns to the Sam Houston Race Park. Have you bought your tickets yet?

Before we get into some wicked mischief, here are three mixes from our Wicked roster to get you pumped for the upcoming event.

Tommy Trash – Trashed Episode 009

Every month, the Trashed podcast features a selection of the latest and greatest tracks in dance music handpicked from Grammy nominated producer and DJ Tommy Trash.

This Trashed episode starts off with Tommy’s latest collaboration with Wolfgang Gartner called “Hounds of Hell.” Having just recently kicked off a tour of the same name, which will coincidentally make a stop at Something Wicked, we thought this Trashed mix would be a good preview of what we can expect from the Aussie talent.

Deorro Live at Sun City Music Festival 2013 in El Paso

This past Labor Day, thousands of dancers gathered in El Paso’s Ascarate Park for the return of Sun City Music Festival. Recent festival favorite Deorro joined the lineup of talent, playing the mega event on his birthday.

This set is the perfect example of why Deorro is wanted at every major festival around the globe. The hour-long ride takes us through electro house, moombahton, trap, Dutch and everything in between. If your toes don’t start tapping after the first song, then you must not be listening properly.

Dyro presents Daftastic Radio 034

The weekly podcast Daftastic Radio is Wicked talent Dyro’s outlet of sharing his current favorite tracks, new productions and remixes to the world!

On this episode, Dyro starts out with a bang and keeps the energy going for the rest of the set. The Hook N Sling remix of Kaskade’s latest hit single “Atmosphere” adds an anxious energetic vibe that makes you crave more. The mix ends with the latest release from Something Wicked duo Adventure Club. “Gold” is a welcomed detour from the the dance floor bangers that precede it giving us some clubstep to mellow out to.

AWOL Sun Weekend Happy Hour With Anthony Attalla

Hello weekend! We can’t hardly believe that this time next week, we will be on vacation in Cabo San Lucas for AWOL Sun 2013 on October 10-13th.

For the last edition of AWOL Sun’s Happy Hour, we’ll be pairing a Detroit-schooled DJ who plays some incorrect music with a refreshing drink inspired by another vacation hotspot. So sit back. Relax. Take a sip of your beverage and press play – because sometimes, that’s really all you need.

Anthony Attalla Live at Departures in Ushuaia, Ibiza

Anthony Attalla’s deeply rooted knowledge of dance music history makes every set of his sheer perfection. The set he uploaded from his performance at Departures in Ibiza, is no different proving he really is one of the best house talents out right now.

Showing off some recent grooves and releases from his Incorrect imprint, Anthony brings an undeniable danceable energy to this set. In person, he’s been known to dance more behind the decks than some people do on the dance floor. We can’t wait to get a little, shall we say, incorrect, with AWOL resident Anthony Attalla as he joins us on vacation next week.

Get Involved and Volunteer at Club Cirque

Volunteering is a great way to get involved and help the festival community – and there are loads of benefits for doing it too. When you volunteer at the inaugural Club Cirque, you’ll receive access to the festival, learn about operations at a major festival event and meet others like yourself with similar interests. If you’ve always wanted to get involved, volunteer or help out in the dance music community, but didn’t know how, here is your chance.

Though volunteers won’t need a ticket, you’ll be asked to complete a specific amount of shift hours in order to get access to the show. If you do not fulfill your required hours, you will be charged for a ticket with the account information you have provided. Additionally, volunteers who do not show up for their shifts will be charged as well.

If you’re interested in volunteering and running away with Club Cirque, please email volunteers@clubcirquefestival.com with your full name, email address, phone number, date of birth (to confirm that you are at least 18 years old) and attach your résumé. Once we have your application for consideration, we’ll contact you with more details.
