And there is one particular newcomer who seems to be making all of the right moves for his budding music career–dare we say, all the right risks? Thankfully, Alvin Risk’s dynamic live performances more than make up for our corny puns and you can see up close and personal, Saturday, May 25th. Hurry and grab those tickets!

Even though Alvin Risk, born Marcio Alvarado, was relatively unknown two years ago, that is certainly not the case today for the Washington D.C. native. His name started gaining some traction when he teamed up with fellow D.C. native, moombahton pioneer Tittsworth, to drop the massive Two Strokes Raw EP in 2011. After releasing his debut solo EP “Infinity” in 2012, Alvin scored a spot on OWSLA’s US and Canada tour, gaining more support from industry artists and fans alike. He even tagged along with Kaskade that same year, opening for “America’s Best DJ” on his “Freaks of Nature” tour.

Now signed to the OWSLA imprint, Alvin’s sound is known for its signature blend of dubstep, electro, moombahton and house. With a knack for creating killer, hard-hitting remixes, Alvin has reworked the music of Kaskade, Kill The Noise, Matt & Kim, and other Sunset talent, Steve Aoki, just to name a few. And although 2013 is not even at it’s halfway mark yet, there is no telling what Alvin Risk has up his argyle sleeve for the rest of the year. Still reveling in the buzz surroundding newest releases “Skyclad” and “Empty Hearted,” a collaboration with Designer Drugs, we’re sure you’ll hear these tunes when Alvin Risk takes the stage at Sunset Music Festival in less than two weeks.
