Sunset Music Festival Artist Spotlight: Pegboard Nerds

Our Sunset Music Festival lineup has a wide range of buzz-worthy newcomers gracing the stages this year. Pegboard Nerds is one of the buzzing artists making waves in the industry today. Though they had admired and been influenced by dance music for over twenty years, it wasn’t until 2011 that Danish countrymen Alexander Odden and Michael Parsberg would create the duo Pegboard Nerds after years of producing and remixing for other established artists.

Creating a unique blend of electronic music that spans over electro, dubstep, moombahcore, and glitch hop, the two have never confined themselves to a single genre. Which could probably attribute to their wide audience that has gained an impressive following over the past year. Their first release “Gunpoint” was the catalyst of a string of successful releases, like “Self Destruct,” “Disconnected,” and “Fire In The Hole” which held the number one spot on the Beatport’s Glitch Hop chart for almost 3 consecutive months. Their latest release “Razor Sharp” with Tristam is currently at #1. Pegboard Nerds’ remixes have gained a lot of attention as well. Their take on Krewella’s “Alive,” on popular channel UKF, has garnered over 1.5 million views and the remix of MSD and Jillian Ann’s “Quiet Riot” was also hand-picked by Knife Party for their Mixmag studio mix back in November.

You can catch Pegboard Nerds on tour supporting fellow Sunset artist Knife Party later this year, or you can just catch their set next week at the Set stage for Sunset Music Festival. Buy your tickets today!
