We’re serving up some home-grown talent on this edition of our AWOL Sun sound clash. Representing Los Angeles and Detroit we’re putting two of our talented acts under the microscope. Though one creates some moombah bangers and the other created his own ní®che in every aspect of house, we are looking forward to the great music that will be blasting through the speakers when Dillon Francis and Anthony Attalla take to the shores of Cabo San Lucas October 10-13th — no matter how different those two sounds may be.
Dillon Francis
Though his first release was only three years ago, Los Angeles-based producer DJ Dillon Francis has seen a rapid rise to fame with a series of successful releases and a little help from endorsements by Diplo. The two eventually collaborated on the massive-hit, “Que Que,” cementing Dillon’s presence in today’s dance music scene. Known for being one of the pioneers of the sub-genre moombahton, in 2012 Francis became the first moombahton artist to achieve the number-one spot on Beatport’s Top 5 Releases Chart with the release of his Something, Something, Awesome EP. While Dillon has made a few viral videos in recent months, it is his blend of moombahcore/moombahton, electro house, trap, and dubstep that keeps us clamoring for more. Anthony Attalla
In the few short years of his budding career, Detroit-native producing DJ and AWOL mainstay Anthony Attalla has scored residencies at world renowned clubs, seen his imprint rise to one of the most respected labels, and has become a highly in-demand artist for bookings all around the globe. As an artist, Anthony has charted over 40 Top 100 tracks on Beatport on labels such as Great Stuff, Trapez, Definitive, Tronic and Stereo Recordings. As a Businessperson, Anthony created a platform to showcase his favorite talent through his music production-company, Incorrect Music. 
As a DJ, Anthony says, “When I perform it is truly the only time I can just forget about the world and lose myself. It’s almost like I disappear for a few hours and go to a different dimension or universe where I’m oblivious to everything besides my connection to the crowd and my set.”
Showing a penchant for techno infused tracks with a healthy dose of deep house rhythms, Anthony has become one of biggest tastemakers in an increasingly demanding industry.
