With an awesome humblebrag like “I spin at places you want to hang out at, making you shake your ass like Beyonce on crack,” it’s obvious to see why people around the world are getting lost in the music of Alison Wonderland.
This past year has been a very busy and exciting one for the Aussie talent, establishing herself on the global touring scene with debut appearances at many notable festivals but more importantly, establishing herself as a multifaceted producer with the release of her debut album on Astralwerks called Run. Celebrating the album’s release like any artist knows how, Alison Wonderland has just announced 2016 dates for her first headlining tour in the US. The Run tour kicks off in 2016 but pre-sale tickets are available now.

Running in Wonderland
As a principal cellist in Austrailia’s Sydney Youth Orchestra and a bass player for an indie rock band, music composition has always been a huge part of Alison Wonderland’s life. Teaching herself how to DJ and produce, there’s no denying that Wonderland, real name Alex Scholler, is definitely a self-starter. Her sound is as driven as she is, taking elements of trap and filtering them through a pop lens, as heard on her chart-climbing debut LP, Run.
Representing her idea of momentum and always moving forward, the title for Alison Wonderland’s debut LP, has been a long time coming, “Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve wanted to call my first album Run, so I didn’t want to let my baby self down. And it seemed to tie in with the whole record.” Featuring many collaborators like including Wayne Coyne from the Flaming Lips, Djemba Djemba, New York rapper Johnny Nelson, and SAFIA’s Ben Woolner, Run proves Alison Wonderland’s ability to diversify without being timid, creating captivating compositions in electro, trap, and pop.
Marching into 2016 with a long list of tour dates, Alison Wonderland has announced her first US headlining tour, kicking off on February 2nd. To celebrate the tour announcement, Wonderland released a new soulful collaboration with BRAVE and Lido, combining R&B with her pop sensibility on “Already Gone.” The track is available to stream now but if you want to “make your ass shake like Beyonce on crack,” then you should head to the dance floor when the Run tour comes to a city near you.
