Porter Robinson Takes our 'Worlds' Apart in new Mini-Documentary
Checking off another pivotal career milestone this year, North Carolina native Porter Robinson recently released his long-awaited debut album Worlds, this past August. Even now, two months after it was released, the album still gets acclaimed-reviews every week from media and fans alike. Although he’s on the last leg of his 40-date North American tour, the 22-year old is only in the eye of the proverbial storm – another whirlwind will soon be underway with the start of his European tour. But despite the hard work and heavy schedule, Porter is still all smiles – he’s doing what he’s always wanted to do!

One of the things we (and critics) love most about Worlds and its accompanying tour is that it’s completely original and a breath of fresh air from the expected sounds of the main stage. Porter crafted a journey with beautiful chord progressions, mirroring a cerebral, almost fairytale-like composition overtop playfully glitchy edits. His live performance is exactly that – live. Avoiding CDJs all together, Porter uses keyboards, drum machines, and microphones to recreate his blissful tracks. When you add that with stunning visual production, it further proves that the entire Worlds experience is one that you just cannot miss.

Earlier this week, Porter uploaded episode one of a mini tour documentary called Worlds Live Tour. The first of an impending series, episode one is four-minutes long and chronicles the hours before his first show. It also gives a behind-the-scenes look at Porter’s trials and errors working with specialists to bring his vision to life. “My VJ Ghostdad flew to where I live and stayed at my house for like four days,” Porter remembers, “We worked dusk ’til dawn, without ever leaving the house. Ben, my light guy, has been doing a very similar thing – I think he’s slept five hours in the last four days.”

'X' Marks the Spot on the Upcoming Tour With Bassjackers and Dyro
This fall, North America is getting a Dutch invasion as Bassjackers and Dyro join forces for the first time since their 2013 GRID tour, to embark on a co-headlined journey called X. Though they have different styles, both acts are known for their crazy energetic output, so you can only imagine how crazy this tour is going to be.
Bassjackers
Bassjackers‘ members Marlon Flohr and Ralph van Hilst have been jackin’ the bass since 2007. Their big break came a few years later when their dancefloor weapon “Mush Mush” released on Tiësto’s Musical Freedom imprint and became one of the biggest club/festival tracks of 2011. Since the Bassjackers name is seemingly everywhere, whether it be on remixes for the likes of Rihanna, Enrique Iglesias and Moby, on lineups for events around the globe, on massive collaborations, or banging originals like “Crackin” and forthcoming single “Savior.”

Dyro
Dyro‘s story started a little differently. This young talent first started producing in 2011 and in that same year, had one of his tracks fall into the hands of reigning #1 DJ in the world, Hardwell. That track was “Metaphor” which we now know as Dyro’s official debut to the world – and what a debut that was. Dyro’s success has hardly slowed since, as follow-up releases like “Daftastic” and “Raid” only propelled him even further into the spotlight. The Dutch talent went on to remix songs for Hardwell, Dannic, R3hab, Afrojack, and even pop favorite Katy Perry has vied for his style. Known for creating huge progressive tracks with electro-influenced drops, Dyro knows his way around that peak-time sound and makes sure energy is the core element in each of his productions. Getting ready to release “Against All Odds” at the end of October on his very own imprint WOLV, there’s nothing but blue skies in the future for this young talent.
