Disco Donnie Presents brings Paul Oakenfold to Columbus, St. Louis, Houston!

Having been deeply rooted in the music industry for over 40 years, British composer, DJ, producer, songwriter Paul Oakenfold has become one of the most indispensable talents of our time. During the rise of hip-hop, Paul was the worked as head of A&R at Champion Records where he was the first to sign then unknown act, DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. Through late 80s into the early 90s as Britain reinvented its dance scene, Paul played a heavy hand to the explosion of the Balearic house style across the region as well as the invention of the “Madchester” genre.

His accomplishments as a label frontman are equally as intriguing as his world-famous imprint Perfecto Records has hosted releases from artists ranging from U2 to Infected Mushroom and has also been the career catalyst for artists like BT, Timo Maas, and Hernan Cattaneo. In the studio, Paul has not only created classic anthems like “It’s Not Over,” “Southern Sun,” and “Starry Eyed Surprise,” but has also remixed and produced for some of the industry’s highest A-listers like Madonna, and Cher, to even the Rolling Stones and Snoop Dogg.

Coined “UK’s #1 DJ,” Disco Donnie Presents is excited to bring legendary pioneer, producer, and DJ, Paul Oakenfold to a city near you!

The Sunset Drop: Danny Avila Las Vegas residency; Carnage dives into electro house

If you didn’t already know by looking at it, our lineup for Sunset Music Festival is chock full of innovative and eclectic talent from around the world. Recently, two of our artists have been making waves both on and off the decks.

Danny Avila becomes youngest DJ to hold Las Vegas residency

Danny Avila has been in a dizzying whirlwind of success in the past few months. Having headlined some of the biggest venues and festivals in 2013 like Pacha NYC, LIV, Ultra Music Festival, Coachella, and the Ultimate Music Experience, the Spanish import has destroyed all preconceptions about age and raised the bar once again by announcing that he has been named as a resident for Hakkasan Las Vegas opening at MGM Grand this month. This makes him the youngest ever person to hold a residency in the entire history of the city of Las Vegas.

Neil Moffit, head of the group overseeing the club’s launch, says it is Avila’s “captivating drive” and “youthful spirit” that “breathes life into his performances.” Fans of Danny Avila on the East coast can experience the youngster in action when he takes the stage at Sunset Music Festival in just a few short weeks. Tickets are now available, buy your tickets today!

Carnage dives into electro house with latest release “Signal”

On his Facebook page, Carnage reflects just nine months ago, he was stunned he had a show, let alone, one people would pay to see. Though his first releases were hits in the trap genre, Carnage has recently been stepping out of his comfort zone and delving into the electro house circuit. His newest single, “Signal,” out a few days ago on Spinnin’ Records, takes on big room “festival house” sound and after the second breakdown, releases that trap style that he’s known for.

Outside of “Signal,” Carnage has some other projects in the works that include more electro house, drum and bass heavy songs, and not to mention a little something brewing with the ladies of other Sunset talent, Krewella. Maybe we will get a preview when Carnage (or Krewella) gets on the decks for his set at Sunset Music Festival? There’s only one way to find out. Sunset Music Festival Sound Mashup: Crizzly and Danny Avila

In just a few short weeks, Sunset Music Festival will be a beautiful mosaic of people from different backgrounds, unique personalities, and varied ages. And that includes our lineup as well. Sunset artists Crizzly and Danny Avila may come from opposite ends of the world and have two different music styles, but we love how these two producers have made huge waves in dance music, all before the age of 21.

Crizzly

Crizzly is a sharp-shooter anytime he hits the stage around the country. Channeling a hyperactive energy, the producing DJ gets every crowd going with his perfected fusion of dubstep and hip-hop, which he, and now the world call, “Crunkstep.” However, there’s a lot more to the now 21-year-old artist.

Born Christopher Marshall, the Texas native grew up in a small town outside of San Antonio without much of a dance scene to speak of. The ability to burrow through record stores and discover music was not an option, so a young Crizzly found most inspiration for music making from videos on the internet. Although he was making “weird stuff” in his bedroom when he was 15, Crizzly didn’t stumble upon dance music or production until he was 19. Picking up a set of turntables shortly thereafter, the first gigs he scored were usually birthday parties. Production followed with Crizzly bootlegging/remixing rap songs that he heard on YouTube. He released his own versions of Waka Flocka Flame’s “Hard in Da Paint” and “Snap Back Swag” from AJ Hernz, and set the worldwide blogosphere alight. Multiple websites began reposting his cuts and edits and Crizzly developed a fervent following.

Known for combining fresh hip-hop lyrics with the undeniable sounds of dubstep/drumstep, Crizzly has found his perfect niche in the electronic music scene. We can’t wait to get crunk with Crizzly when he takes the stage for Sunset Music Festival.

Danny Avila

In just a little over a year, Danny Avila has become one of the biggest contenders for dance music’s next generation of talent. With over 200 shows all around the world, releases on revered labels like Big Beat Records and Interscope Records, support from some of the biggest players in the music industry, a residency on SiriusXM and just recently finishing the Generation Wild Tour across the US and Canada, Danny Avila has seen a meteoric rise to prominence, and he’s just getting started.

At the ripe old age of 16, the Spainish prodigy won the ‘Best Newcomer DJ’ at the prestigious 2011 Vicious Music Awards, and it has been nothing but a string of successes following suit. In the year 2013 alone, Danny debuted at Ultra Music Festival and Coachella, released a mixed compilation out on the legendary Ministry of Sound, and was just recently announced as the resident for Hakassan in Vegas at the MGM Grand. Needless to say, Danny is having a pretty good year.

Danny Avila’s production and DJ sets are what set him apart from the competition. Known for his innate track selections that explode with energy and are brimming with creativity, his mixes are always bold, fresh, and original. So to answer your question, yes, we are ready to jump. And you can join us too when Danny Avila takes the stage at Sunset Music Fstival May 25th.
